Immerse yourself in the contemporary world of emerging Portuguese art with ‘Portuguese Emerging Art 2023 (PEA’23)’.

Two projects produced in 2023 by Eternal Forest were selected for PEA’23 book: Being Land? and Forest Time. Both are related to the recent evolution of the work with plants and with the land, with local and indigenous knowledge, artistic practices of creating art trails and experiences and developing the visual language of calligraphic artworks based on poetry.

This annual publication by EMERGE — Cultural Association, now in its 5th edition, serves as a platform to showcase the work of, carefully selected, 19 talented Portuguese artists, whether residing in Portugal or abroad, as well as artists who have been living in Portugal for over three years.

This edition features a reflection on the current art scene by the jury, composed of Emília Ferreira, director of the National Museum of Contemporary Art (MNAC); Leonor Lloret, a Luso-Spanish cultural manager; and artist Pedro Calapez. 

“PEA’23” not only offers a glimpse into the artistic creations of Portugal but also aims to bring contemporary national production to the global stage, an essential document for professionals, collectors, and art enthusiasts.
